So after reading some of these reviews, and considering myself somewhat of a "regular" I've come to revisit my own review. To me Pappous isn't a "place" it's a family. Anna, Lisa, Victor, Fran, Andre, Jimmie, Bob and the waitresses are the heart and soul of this establishment.
Pappou created this concept 30 some years ago and despite fluctuations in the economy and the loss that all families experience, these people have stayed true to form. Sticking to age old principles that much of society has lost value in.
They have gradually even expanded and grown in many ways over the years.
They invest in quality ingredients and recipes, pride themselves on the freshness of their food, expanded the menu, offer a variety of craft beers rotating on draft, invested in smoke eater machines to promote a more comfortable environment, remodeled the interior, and YES EVEN ACCEPTS CREDIT CARDS NOW!
For the most part the patrons have been a great support system for each other and the establishment. I've known most of the people I see there for 10+ years.
Do you ever have to wait for more than 3-5 minutes for a drink refill?...Sometimes. Considering the staff aren't super heroes, and there is typically one bartender serving 50+ people...your hard pressed to find ANYONE that can be e everywhere at once. This isn't mass produced food and drink...Do you feel like the staff is being intentionally rude to you once in a while?...ok...so you've never had a bad day at work?...furthermore let's evaluate how YOUR behavior may have influenced the situation...
Are they perfect? No Are they warm, sincere, hardworking people who excel in their craft and love it...You're damn right they are!
And to me that makes all the difference^^. -

Pizza and cheesesteaks are delicious, chicken wings specials are tasty too!
Its a neighborhood place,
Been here for a long time.
Place is always packed....hard to get a seat at times.

WINGS, WINGS, WINGS!!! If you want good wings, try the DOA's (hot), Delco's (hot mixed w/ BBQ Sauce) or Sea Isle's (same as Delco but with Old Bay mixed in). I recommend getting them well done with extra blue cheese!!

Love pappou's!! Great bar/great food and great owners! And a great beer selection. Old school vibe and a great jukebox.

Used to be better. Dirty. Smoking, place reeks and I left reeking, it was gross. Not good. I don't know what happened. Lots of people who look homeless. Parking almost non existent. Not good.
